About me
My name is Ali Al Ali, PharmD, and I am a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Resident at SBH Health System in Bronx, New York. I earned my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Touro College of Pharmacy in 2025 and became a licensed pharmacist in New York after successfully completing the NAPLEX and MPJE examinations. Prior to residency, I worked as a pharmacy intern at Walgreens Pharmacy, where I gained experience in patient care, pharmacy operations, and communication skills over the course of three years.
My professional interests include ambulatory care, internal medicine, chronic disease state management, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy. Throughout my training, I have been actively involved in research projects focusing on pharmacogenetic-based warfarin dosing, antimicrobial stewardship, diabetes management, and HIV pharmacotherapy. I have presented research at professional meetings including the ACCP Annual Meeting and ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting.
In addition to my clinical and research involvement, I currently serve as Chair of the Royal Counties NYC Chapter Communications Committee and as a member of the ASHP New Practitioners Forum Career and Leadership Development Advisory Group for the 2025–2026 term. Upon completion of my PGY1 residency, I plan to pursue a PGY2 residency in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy at the Brooklyn Hospital Center with the goal of becoming a clinical ambulatory care pharmacist and future preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.
